@podemski.co What if deadline is tight and the project takes much longer than you expected? Here are some tips how to deal with this situation:
️⃣ Prepare a calm environment and keep calm, it’s not the end of the world. You need to stay focused and prepare for more productive and harder time. The good news is - it’s temporary 🤫
️⃣ Write down all your tasks on paper or any task management tool ✍🏻
️⃣ Divide bigger tasks to smaller parts - it will help you get motivated by completing to-dos one by one faster ✅
️⃣ Be realistic, if you know that something is not possible to do in short matter of time, get rid of it and come to that later
️⃣ Define priorities and MVP of your project. You definitely need to have at least a working product to show to your client, even if it’s not perfect
️⃣ Talking about perfectionism - good enough is fine. Perfect is the enemy of good. Don’t waste time to improve a feature because it will never be finished, creation is the neverending process
️⃣ Don’t add additional tasks to your list. If you planned it right, leave the additional things for second iteration or release ☝🏻 the only way to get more done is to have less to do 👌🏻
️⃣ Never change the deadline. If it was set up, you should make it. The plan is the key so if you stick to the points mentioned above you are able to make job done!
️⃣ There might be some problems and blocker, don’t avoid them and when planning out add some additional amount of time ⏱
🔟 When the job is done, close your laptop and go out, have fun and don’t answer calls. Relax, enjoy life and don’t wait for feedback. We’re not robots, we would never do a decent job if we’re tired 😊
